There’s just something about Summer where those pages turn a little faster. Could it be that I quite possibly don't want to be sitting in the hot sun at the beach anymore.. Probably. Even though I live in Florida, but all those summers spending the whole day in the heat for softball tournaments set me up to be an inside Florida girl.
While I don’t love being at the beach, I do love reading a good summer romance, and these books all scream that in my opinion. I mean the couples on the covers are all outside in the summer sun so let’s dive in:
🌸Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood
Hazelwood is back, and this time she’s bringing the romance to a spicier level. It’s messy and Problematic. Older man, brother's best friend, and they are stuck together in a Sicilian villa for a week. If Ali Hazelwood wasn't already an automatic add to cart for you, this one should be.
💌 It’s a Love Story By Annabell Monaghan
Need a funny, bingeable read? Perfect! Abby Jimenez says this book is “Poignant, funny, and bingeable, Annabel Monaghan writes five star reads.” If Abby Jimenez says it’s a must read, then it goes on the TBR.
Fake it till you make it, Jane Jackson is trying to change her young star persona to a Hollywood producer. She fakes it a little too far, gets stuck in a lie and now she has to spend a whole week with a man she never thought she would need to turn to for help.
📚 Like First Love, Again By J.J Arias
Slow burn, steamy, friends to lover, and a second chance sapphic romance. SIGN ME UP! 14 years apart, you would think that the feelings Tori and Mia had would be gone, but nope. They are still there and stronger than before.
I can just tell this one is going to be good.
💍 Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn
Reading the synopsis had me confused at first, but then it all came together slowly... Best friend's brother, close proximity, and fake husband.
Scottie starts a new job where she's surrounded by men, when she thinks she's going to be stuck in a bachelor pad work place, she finds out they are all happily married. She's gotten herself into a huge lie and now to try to cover it up, she needs her best friend's brother Wilder to step in as her fake husband.
Can we also look at that cover though? I mean, it’s stunning.
🔥 Burning Daylight by Emily McIntire
APPROVED in all the best ways. Dark, and seductive. This one’s for readers who like their romance a little edgy and their emotions raw. It’s the kind of book you’ll stay up way too late reading with your heart in your throat and your eyes unwilling to close. I mean it’s Emily frickin McIntire, enough said.
🌻 Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
“Two writers compete for the chance to tell the larger-than-life story of a woman with more than a couple of plot twists up her sleeve in this dazzling and sweeping novel from Emily Henry.”
I’ve never read Emily Henry, but I do know that she is one of the go to girls for the best summer books. So if you have read her books and loved them let me know, because the idea of this book has me adding it to my TBR.
📖 A Summer for the Books by Michelle Linda-Rice
This book is set to come out on July 15th, and I just read the description and then pre-ordered. Instead of a love story, it’s all about friendship. Jewel, who has everything she ever wanted (or so she thought) gets a call from her former best friend who now needs her help, the only thing is Shelby has gotten into an accident and now can remember what has happened in the last 12 years. This story is about friendship, healing, and my heart immediately wants to know what happened to make them go from being inseparable to not talking for 12 years.
📚 Final Thoughts:
This summer has everything for all kinds of readers. I’m excited to add all of these to my TBR this summer. Hopefully Florida will give us a few rainy days, so maybe I can just sit on the couch and read all day.
What’s on your summer list? Let me know in the comments below. I’m always wanting to add a few more to my TBR list (Just don’t tell my husband).
